Soccer / Football cake for World Cup Finals
I made this cake for a 2010 World Cup Finals party that we attended. The bottom tier was lemon with lemon butter cream filling and the top tier was chocolate with marshmallow creme, chocolate chips and graham cracker filling (s'mores), all covered in fondant. I will let it be known that I am totally not into soccer. I have never watched a game on television, or in person and didn't even know who was playing up until 2 days ago. People even looked at me strangely at the party when I asked them which team was which with only about 10 minutes to go in the game. Anyway, Congrats Spain!

Keegan's Lightning McQueen Cake
This cake was made for a little boy turning 3. Having never seeing the movie, these cakes seem to get a bit easier each time being that this is my 6th one in the past year or so. The cake was white with strawberry buttercream and fresh strawberries, and crushed graham crackers for the sand on top. All "decorations" were made from fondant with the exception of the cars on top. If you notice, the road is shaped like a 3 and the speed limit sign is 3 mph because the birthday boy turned 3 years old... clever huh? :) Happy 3rd birthday Keegan!

Happy Easter!
My dad and step mom put together an Easter egg hunt for all of the grand kids, so I made some very quick and easy Easter cupcakes to take along. I was quite busy with other orders this weekend, so I didn't have the time to be creative and make my own toppers, instead I bought some peeps and some Easter decorated toothpicks to top the cupcakes with. Happy Easter!!

Nick's Angel puppet cake
This cake was made for a guy Nick whose favorite TV show of all time was Angel. I have never personally watched the show, so I really didn't know anything about it, other then the fact that I was told there was one episode that he (and I really have no clue who "he" was other then the fact that it was the main character) turned into a puppet. The cake was chocolate with vanilla buttercream filling and frosting. The puppet was sculpted from homemade marshmallow fondant and royal icing was used to make it look like blood was dripping down the sides of the cake. Happy Birthday Nick!

Snowflake Wedding Cake
This wedding cake was made for a happy couple Christina and Angelo. She requested a pale blue cake with snowflakes that sparkled. When I went to drop off the cake, the reception hall was set up with white and blue linens and adorned with snowflakes. The cake was a very subtle pineapple with guava pineapple buttercream filling and pineapple frosting. Congratulations Christina and Angelo!
