Amanda's giant cupcake... animal style!
I was asked to make a giant cupcake with somewhat specific instructions... a blue wrapper and pink frosting, with stars and only one restriction... absolutely no purple. The cake was white with strawberry buttercream filling and frosting, and all "decorations"... the wrapper, stars, swirly like confetti, bow, her name on the board, and the 18 on top were made from homemade marshmallow fondant. I wanted to incorporate a little funkiness into the cake so I added a zebra print bow which I hand painted and a black and white marbled 18. I really like the way it turned out, and hopefully the bday girl did as well! Happy birthday Amanda!

Strawberry Shortcake giant cupcake
I absolutely LOVE the way this turned out! This giant cupcake was made for a little girl turning 2. Her mom was on the fence as to what she wanted... either a giant cupcake with bugs (the same one that I made for my friend's daughter Ava), or a Strawberry Shortcake themed cake, so I suggested a Strawberry Shortcake giant cupcake. I was very excited when I first thought up the idea, so i'm glad that she loved the idea as much as I did. The cake was confetti with guava pineapple frosting, and the strawberries, vines, flowers, leaves, wrapper and 2 were all made from fondant. Happy birthday Ava!

Anna's giant cupcake
This giant cupcake was made for some friend's of our's daughter Anna who was turning 3. The birthday girl specifically said that she wanted a blue wrapper with light pink frosting and a darker pink 3 on top, so that is exactly what she got. The cake was white with strawberry buttercream filling and homemade marshmallow fondant was used for the wrapper, sprinkles and 3 on top. I also made Rice Krispy treat magic wands, similar to the ones I made a few months back for my daughter's birthday, but somehow I forgot to take pictures of those. Happy 3rd birthday Anna!

Molly's mini giant cupcake
This cupcake is actually a mini version of the giant cupcake that I make, and that is why I call it a mini giant cupcake. This cake was made for a young girl turning 9 who specifically requested a giant cupcake with a purple wrapper, pink frosting, and rainbow sprinkles. This was actually the second one that I made due to the fact that as I was literally finishing the first one, something happened and the bottom part of the cupcake gave out causing it to collapse. After wanting to scream at the top of my lungs and say some not so very nice things, I started all over again. I actually liked the way this one turned out more, so maybe it wasn't such a bad thing that that happened! The cake was chocolate with vanilla buttercream/oreo filling and the wrapper, sprinkles, 9 on top, and the writing on the board were all made from homemade marshmallow fondant. Happy birthday Molly!

Stella's 1st birthday giant cupcake!
This giant cupcake was made for a little girls 1st birthday. Her mom was specific as to what colors she wanted... spring green cupcake wrapper, bright pink frosting, turquoise "1", and rainbow sprinkles. The giant cupcake was white cake with vanilla buttercream/chocolate chip filling. The cupcakes were white with vanilla buttercream frosting and topped with a handmade fondant cupcake, which I think turned out so adorable! Happy 1st birthday Stella!

Ava's giant cupcake
This giant cupcake was made for one of my friends since grade school's daughter Ava for her 2nd birthday. She said that she wanted a giant cupcake like the one that I made last year for my daughter's 1st birthday, but I could do what ever I wanted for the fondant pieces. I was a bit disappointed in the wire that the "bugs" are attached to, only because I don't think that it was a strong enough grade (they seemed to flop around more than I would have liked), so next time I will need something a bit stronger. Aside from that, I really love the colors on this cake and especially love the way that the bumblebees, ladybugs, and butterflies turned out. The flower cupcakes that I made to go along with the cake were just like the ones that I made last week. Happy Birthday Ava!

Happy 1st birthday Anjali!
This giant cupcake cake was made for my daughter Anjali's 1st birthday with the help of my sister-in-law Katie who also shares the same love of baking . Everyone was amazed when they saw this monstrous thing! I have always enjoyed baking, but this is the cake that started my love for cake decorating!
