Baby Shower Cake

The girl that wanted this baby shower cake was very specific as to what she wanted down to the color combinations and their placement. The cake was all yellow with strawberry filling and covered in fondant, and the bear and the blocks were made from rice cereal treats and fondant. This cake turned out absolutely adorable! I especially love the teddy! Congrats Monique on your soon to be little boy!

3D Bear Baby shower cake

This cake was made for a couple expecting a baby girl to be named Ellee. They specifically asked for a pink bear sitting on top of a blanket that looked like the babies bedding... Sugar Plum Fairy from Babies-R-Us, and blocks spelling out the babies name. The bottom cake and the bear were confetti with strawberry buttercream filling and vanilla frosting. The blanket was made entirely from homemade marshmallow fondant, and the blocks sitting on top of the cake were made from Rice Krispy Treats dipped in white chocolate and then covered in fondant. 30 extra blocks with A,B,C's were also made to go along with the cake. Congratulations on your soon to be baby girl!

It's a girl!

This cake was made for a couple expecting a baby girl. When I was asked to make this cake, they specifically wanted the bear to sit on top of a baby blanket with the colors that will match their babies nursery. The cake was white with strawberry buttercream filing, and the bear was also white cake. The blanket was made from homemade marshmallow fondant, and the blocks were made from Rice Krispy treats and then covered in fondant. The entire cake is edible with the exception of the pink plastic safety on the diaper which are difficult to see because the diaper is also pink. Congratulations Katie on your upcoming baby girl!

3D turtle cake, 3D bear cake and cupcakes!

I LOVE the way this cake turned out... I think it is my favorite yet! The entire cake including the turtle was yellow with chocolate buttercream filling. The turtle shell was covered with homemade marshmallow fondant and decorated with fondant pieces and the turtle head, feet, hands and tail (which you cant see) were also made from fondant. Happy Birthday Jonah!

It's a girl!!
The only thing that I was told I absolutely had to do with this cake was make the bear pink... I could do what ever I wanted with the rest. This entire cake (including the bear) was all white with buttercream frosting, homemade marshmellow fondant pieces include the blanket, bow, banner, and buttons. Congratulations Shantel!

I tried out a few new recipes this week, so I made cupcakes!

These ones were good, just not fluffy enough.

These ones... well, not so good! :(

It's a Boy!

The first thing that everyone asks me when they see this picture is... is the bear cake? I was even asked if it was a teddy bear sitting on top. The round cake is vanilla and the bear is chocolate, all with vanilla buttercream frosting. Everything here is edible... except for the plastic rattle and the plastic safety pins. I added sugar cookies for the finishing touch!
