Keegan's Lightning McQueen Cake

This cake was made for a little boy turning 3. Having never seeing the movie, these cakes seem to get a bit easier each time being that this is my 6th one in the past year or so. The cake was white with strawberry buttercream and fresh strawberries, and crushed graham crackers for the sand on top. All "decorations" were made from fondant with the exception of the cars on top. If you notice, the road is shaped like a 3 and the speed limit sign is 3 mph because the birthday boy turned 3 years old... clever huh? :) Happy 3rd birthday Keegan!

Twin Peas in a Pod Baby Shower

I absolutely LOVE the way that these turned out! These adorable peas in a pod cupcakes and small cake were made in honor of the soon to be mommy and daddy who are expecting twins... one boy and one girl! The boy cupcakes were chocolate with blue vanilla buttercream frosting topped with a pea pod and blue flower made from homemade marshmallow fondant. The girl cupcakes were vanilla with pink vanilla buttercream frosting also topped with the fondant pea pod and pink flower. The cake was one layer chocolate and one layer vanilla with vanilla buttercream filling and frosting. The large pea pod, flowers and polka dots were all made from fondant as well. Congratulations Michelle and Jeff on your soon to be double bundle of joy!

Nick's Angel puppet cake

This cake was made for a guy Nick whose favorite TV show of all time was Angel. I have never personally watched the show, so I really didn't know anything about it, other then the fact that I was told there was one episode that he (and I really have no clue who "he" was other then the fact that it was the main character) turned into a puppet. The cake was chocolate with vanilla buttercream filling and frosting. The puppet was sculpted from homemade marshmallow fondant and royal icing was used to make it look like blood was dripping down the sides of the cake. Happy Birthday Nick!

3D Bear Baby shower cake

This cake was made for a couple expecting a baby girl to be named Ellee. They specifically asked for a pink bear sitting on top of a blanket that looked like the babies bedding... Sugar Plum Fairy from Babies-R-Us, and blocks spelling out the babies name. The bottom cake and the bear were confetti with strawberry buttercream filling and vanilla frosting. The blanket was made entirely from homemade marshmallow fondant, and the blocks sitting on top of the cake were made from Rice Krispy Treats dipped in white chocolate and then covered in fondant. 30 extra blocks with A,B,C's were also made to go along with the cake. Congratulations on your soon to be baby girl!

Halie's Prada purse

This cake was made for a young girl turning 13. I was asked if I can make a cake to look like her favorite purse, so here it is (funny, I am almost 3x her age and I have never had a Prada purse). :) It actually looks pretty dead on. I had a friend who saw the picture ask me where I got the purse and then she noticed that it was actually a cake that I had made. The cake was white with strawberry buttercream filling, and the snake skin look, strap, metal hardware, and zipper were all made from homemade marshmallow fondant. Happy 13th birthday Halie!

Happy 7th birthday Jacob!

Malena's Land Before Time cake!

Our daughter Malena has developed a slight obsession with The Land Before Time, and this year wanted it as the theme for her 4th birthday party. It is pretty funny because last year she went from liking Princesses to this year liking Dinosaurs... totally different end of the spectrum. :) The cake was half chocolate with chocolate buttercream/chocolate chip filling, the other half was white cake with passion fruit buttercream filling, and the volcano was chocolate cake. All figures were made from fondant, and might I add that they took FOREVER!! She loves the color pink and wanted it incorporated into the cake in some way, so I made the dinosaurs some party cats and a present. Happy Birthday Malena!

Malena's 4th Birthday!

I made this cake for my daughter Malena's 4th birthday! She is a real girly girl and loves the color pink and also brighter toned colors, so that is the direction that I went. We are having her birthday party next week, so i'll be making another cake for that as well. The birthday girl requested strawberry cake with strawberry buttercream/chocolate chip filling. All flowers and the 4 on top were made from homemade marshmallow fondant. Happy 4th birthday Malena!

Under the sea cupcakes!

These cupcakes were made to celebrate a little boy's first birthday that was being held at our local aquarium. 5 total "special" cupcakes were made... one for the birthday boy, and 4 other's for 4 little boys whose birthday's are coming up. There were 3 boys turning 1, one turning 4, and another turning 5. I also made simple cupcakes with just blue frosting and white sprinkles for all the guests. All cupcakes were chocolate with vanilla buttercream frosting, and sea animals and numbers were all made from homamade marshmallow fondant. Happy birthday Isaiah and to the other 4 boys (whose names I don't have)!
