My Cupcake Halloween costume!!

My "sweet" Halloween costume complete with a cherry on top!

We decided to have a halloween party for our kids and this was my costume. I received the Pottery Barn Kids Catalog in the mail and fell in love with the idea of dressing up as a cupcake, so I googled until my fingers fell off and when I hit a dead end, I decided that I would have to take matters into my own hands and have a go at making one myself. This is what I came up with... isn't it great? Everyone loved it! I even had a little girl say that she wanted to take a bite out of me! :) Happy Halloween! Muahahahaha!!!

Happy Halloween!

These were the goodies that I made for the Halloween party we threw for our kids.

Lemon cookies

I made these lemon cookies along with some chocolate cookies which for some reason I didn't get a picture of, for a Diwali dinner that my Mother-in-law and my Father-in-law were hosting. For those of you who don't know what Diwali is, it is the celebration of the Indian New Year.

It's a girl!

This cake was made for a couple expecting a baby girl. When I was asked to make this cake, they specifically wanted the bear to sit on top of a baby blanket with the colors that will match their babies nursery. The cake was white with strawberry buttercream filing, and the bear was also white cake. The blanket was made from homemade marshmallow fondant, and the blocks were made from Rice Krispy treats and then covered in fondant. The entire cake is edible with the exception of the pink plastic safety on the diaper which are difficult to see because the diaper is also pink. Congratulations Katie on your upcoming baby girl!

Guitar Hero

This life sized guitar hero cake was made for a young boy turning 9. I was told by his dad that he is quite the guitar hero player and can even play behind his back which is pretty impressive if you ask me! The cake was white with chocolate buttercream/chocolate chip filling, frosted with vanilla buttercream and then covered with homemade marshmallow fondant. Happy 9th birthday Chris! Rock on!!

XBox 360

This cake was made for a boy turning 14 who loves XBox. The cake was chocolate with chocolate buttercream/chocolate chip filling and covered with vanilla buttercream with fondant pieces. The controller was made from Rice Krispy treats and covered in fondant. For some reason, the quality of these photos are not very good... they seem blurry and distorted, and don't give the cake justice. Happy 14th birthday Jacob!

Lemon sugar cookies

These sugar cookies were made for a woman who is going through a personal accomplishment, and as a celebration she specifically asked for lemon flavored sugar cookies in the shape of lemons. The theme was, "When life gives you lemons, start looking for the sugar and start making lemonade, lemon cookies or lemon whatever!" The words courage, wisdom, and serenity were written on 6 total cookies, 2 each, because in her own words, "we have to look hard for that and sometimes it is hidden in the lemons we have been handed. " Congratulations Sharon!

Kayla's purse

This cake was for a young "fasionista" turning 10 who specifically asked for a purse that was lime green. The cake was chocolate with chocolate buttercream/chocolate chip filling, and homemade marshmallow fondant was used for the zebra print, strap, buckle and keychain. Happy 10th birthday Kayla!
