Superbowl XLIII

Superbowl XLIII
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Arizona Cardinals

This was made for a Superbowl party that we were planning on attending, but couldn't due to the fact that we couldn't get a babysitter... but it was actually made for a friend to take to the same party. The stadium is fun-fetti and the bottom cake is chocolate, all with vanilla buttercream. This cake was a lot of fun to make. The only thing that I would do differently next time is pipe the lines on the field before putting the stadium cake on top of the other (which I forgot to do beforehand). It took longer than expected, but I am very pleased with the way that it turned out. I especially like all the little fans! (Some people may disagree, but... Go Arizona!)

Butterfly garden

This was made for a little girl who was turning one. They wanted something with butterflies and flowers... basically something girly. The cake was 2 layers... one chocolate and one white all with buttercream frosting. Happy 1 st birthday Grace!

Mod mom

This cake was made for my sisters baby shower with the help of my sister-in-law. She wanted something modern and really liked the mod mom theme, so we decided to make our own version of it. The bottom layer was lemon cake with a raspberry buttercream filling (it may sound a bit weird, but believe me, it is so good), and the top layer was chocolate cake with a chocolate pudding whip cream filling, all with a vanilla buttercream frosting. The mod mom was made totally out of fondant, and took me over 2 hours to make because I was not sure as to how to go about making it. It was my very first ever attempt at making a person, but I think it turned out great! Congratulations Kristine and Craig on your soon to be baby girl!

ipod

This was made for a friend of mine's cousin who was turning 18. Apparently he is attached to the hip with his phone and ipod, so what better than to make him an ipod cake... specifically an ipod nano! Happy birthday Michael!

Just a quick note!

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to let you know that my page is going to have an extreme makeover that will be completed hopefully within the next few weeks. In the meantime, I am here waiting anxiously for it to be completed, and will continue to post some new creations. I am having so much fun doing this... even more fun than I could have imagined! Things are slow this week, but make sure to check back as I have a bunch more cakes that have to be done within the next few weeks!
